Really nice looking artillery piece, but why does the muzzle look chewed up?

This was the first one out the master mould, missed the barrel end when it was cleaned up for the production mould.
Then made it up and undercoated to see the finish product, so oops sorry but it looks a lot better now.
The designer is now working on "Betsy" the international gun [original is somewhere in America] and an early machine gun that was also in Peking.
