Had no interest in gaming fantasy again, then you go do this

I love this range! The orcs look like the ones Angus McBride did for LOTR. I already have a good number of the previous releases. I will be getting some of these also! I can't say that I love the wolf riders though. They don't look like they quite fit onto the wolves right. |

I can't say that I love the wolf riders though. They don't look like they quite fit onto the wolves right. If I read the picture correctly, it looks like the figures are not stuck on (look at the wolf far right in both the mounted and unmounted pictures: the very same model/paint job surely?) I expect that when the figures are properly fixed in position they'll look fine. I'm very pleased by this. I've always liked Tom's LotR sculpting (in larger sizes) and these look spot on. Well done. John T PS – It goes without saying that the black orcs look far nicer than the bright green, non Tolkien orc. |

Hey Landorl, glad you like the releases. By the way to respond to your comment on the pit-wolf riders, they fit fine, but as you can see the same mounts were used for both photos, so the painters just dry-fitted the riders on for the Orc pitwolf rider pic. By the way, for those with interest in this range, check out this thread for another upcoming release: TMP link |

Nice touch with the three jewels on the crown/helm. |

I like the comparison picture of Morgoth next to an Orc, but if an Orc were actually that close to Morgoth, he'd probably be ting himself rather than aggressively advancing. Can we see a comparison of the dragon to an Orc? |

Fantastic line! I really appreciate the old school take on the classic themes, and also the fact that it looks like it will be a comprehensive line spanning the various archetypical realms. Hmm
wonder how much I could off-load my GW LotR figures for

CATenWolde, I was thinking the same thing in regards to selling my GW LotR figures. I may have to add to my HMGS Historicon flea market offerings. |

My first thought on seeing that 'Great Enemy' figure is that he should have a big sword, and say (with John Cleese's voice) "NONE SHALL PASS" (followed some time later with 'it's only a flesh wound', 'I've had worse' and 'the Black Knight ALWAYS triumphs!!') |

Fantastic line! I really appreciate the old school take on the classic themes, Yes, and in particular I prefer these bent over, smaller Orcs to the lantern-jawed mini-ogres that GW and their imitators make. I love the sneering lip on Glaurung -- it gives a great sense of the cunning manipulation of this dragon in the book. |

Oooooo, missed the troll post. Those look awesome. Definitely picking up several. |
Landorl | 20 Jun 2013 11:15 a.m. PST |
Can't wait for those trolls! I haven't seen any trolls in 15mm that I have liked until those! |

Who makes comparable quality halfling s? |
Jojojimmyjohn | 20 Jun 2013 11:58 a.m. PST |
Splintered Light Miniatures has the best 15mm halflings. (IMHO) link The militia especially have a lot of character for such tiny models and the proprietor David McBride is a great guy to deal with. JMW |

I don't know about size-wise, but Splintered Light has some decent Halflings. Wish Khurasan would make some. (hint, hint) |
khurasanminiatures | 20 Jun 2013 12:06 p.m. PST |
We actually have some halflings as part of an adventurer set which will be released soon. |

Chariot miniatures also have some good halflings. They look a little more "hobbitish" than the ones produced by Splintered Light (Which are also good) |
khurasanminiatures | 20 Jun 2013 2:11 p.m. PST |
Oooo even better!!!!! Yes John it's a mix of classic fantasy adventurers including dwarves, gnomes, elves, etc. They are very fun models. |

Oh my. Those are excellent. Thanks for constantly tempting me with stuff. |

Because I've had a few inquiries about the dragon compared to a 15mm model:

I'm a big fan of this range, and I'm sure that the upcoming adventurers will be a must have. However I'd also second Splintered Light as having excellent figures for Dwarves, Humans, Elves, and Halflings to oppose the great enemy. Both Jon from Khurasan and David from Splintered Light are great to order from. |
