Very nice figures and well painted samples. If only I could figure out how to use these in the VBC W :-). It's too late to take up a new period. However I was just watching the TV miniseries on the Rough riders. Very inspiring. I have no idea if it's historically accurate but it's a great war movie. If I were younger I would take up this interesting his episode. What is that single figure at the bottom carrying in his right hand, a molotov cocktail? What is the box on the left side? |

Hi Bobgnar , The figure depicts Eloy Gonzalo, a spanish soldier, one of the heroes of the battle of Cascorro (September 1896), with a kerosene can (the box) and a torch , ready to set on fire alone, a house occupied by the cuban rebels who besieged them. He asked to be tied with a rope so his corpse could be retrieved, this rope thing is maybe apocryphal. (Apologies for my rusted english) |

PeloBourbon. Thanks much for that useful information. I've been reading history for 50 years and I've never heard that story. Tell us the rest, did he come back from that episode? What's the timeline on making Cuban figures and United States troops? Maybe I could just get a few of these for a little skirmish action – – flying lead perhaps. Does anybody know how these figures line up size wise with the old glory Spanish-American war line? |

You're welcome Bobgnar, Yes, Eloy made it, but died in 1897 of fevers in Cuba. Here a link with comparison with several manufacturers, sorry no Old Glory, I don't know if it can be of any help. |
