I was only able to find one ruleset that was on sale – are the others on sale, too, despite the website prices?

Cher Ami02 Jan 2009 11:54 a.m. PST

FOG Rules, 25% off
Arty Conliffe Rules 35% off
All items are priced as marked

Thanks!

I for one am glad to hear about the sale, I had been wanting some of the Essex Miniatures and this is a great time to make a purchase.

Thanks for letting us know :)

Just a heads up to other prospective buyers that the stated sales prices (in my case all Dixon miniatures) may not have been edited to every item. I bought a bunch of Mexicans from the Dixon 25mm Alamo range. Only 1 reference reflected the correct $.99 USD sale price, all the others still had the old price. I attached a note asking for a new total based on the stated sale. As someone who uses Zencart to maintain a much smaller webstore, I know how difficult/time consuming it can be to get to every single case; if you don't see it marked correctly just let them know.

The Hovels stuff went ungodly fast!

Sales are always nice, but I hate to see the cutback in lines carried. No one else brings Hovels to any of the conventions that I go to, nor Dixon either, at least not in any depth.
I am also sorry to see health as one of the reasons for the cutbacks.

I see all the DBA armies I wanted are sold out, too.

I jumped in and got some Hovels and Baueda stuff that I've been wanting. I always bought some of their stuff at each of the HMGS-East cons so I thought I'd grab some now before it is all gone. Best of luck to them as they are always a nice bunch of folks to talk to at the cons.

The dropping of the Hovels range is a smart move IMO; shipping costs from the Uk on resin buildings take a huge bite out of a retailers profits, I went down that road not once (Sentry Models), but twice (Shellhole Scenics).

I carried both back when the exchange rate was close to 1.00 pound= 2.00 US dollars; by the time I got past the brutal exchange rate and the over the top comical shipping charges from the Uk, I ended up with about a 10% to 15% profit per building. Factor in a customer paying with a cc or paypal, now the profit sank to 7% to 12%, not worth even bothering at that point.

A smart move, but not a good one for gamers; Brookhurst dropped Shellhole recently, so this is a trend sadly…………….

And now, the 15mm Essex DBA armies are at 9% off instead of 35%?

Cher Ami05 Jan 2009 5:26 a.m. PST

The 35 % off sale on Essex and Baueda ended on Sunday noon

Dixon, Hovels, QRF, Trents & LBMS remain on clearance
