When are the 1806 Jena Prussian generals coming? Just painted a batch of the cuirassier and they turned out great.

These look nice, just when l'm looking at expanding my 15 7yw stuff as well, hopefully the full range will be stocked in the UK.

Very nice… but when well we see the gun crews for the sudan campaign? And further releases for the zulu range. I would buy your figures… however im reluctant to buy until the range is finished or nearly completed. Im not having a go at bluemoon. It just that i get annoyed buying from wargame suppliers and manufacturers who start a range and never seem to get around to completing them.
Cheers steve

Seriously? Can you list released and available ranges that are COMPLETE? There is no way to ever make everyone happy but I think Blue Moon does better than any other company out there with Peter Pig close behind (maybe Pendraken, too, but not my scale). Almost all other company ranges are either 'as they can afford it' releases or 'we feel like it' releases. And that's okay, not a dig at that approach. But Blue Moon has released massive numbers of packs of figures the last half dozen years in an astonishing variety of periods. And I, personally, don't fault a company that starts down a road of a range to find it falling flat in the marketplace and decide to divert resources to better selling areas. And that is true even when I'm not getting what I want. Sure, I still want what I want, but I don't fault a sound business decision. And besides that, I'm willing to bet you'll get what you want sooner than later. For whatever holes there still may be in their colonial releases, name one other company's range that has had an equal number of packs (I'm not asking for figure poses because that is too high a bar for those other companies) or more released for their ranges since Blue Moon started its own Colonials.

Now back to this release – very nice figures Russ and company and somewhat tempting. I would love to have a SYW collection but would need the money to have someone else paint it at this time. We'll see.

Obivously i may have wrongly worded my previous post. I work hard for my money and after paying bills etc and taking into consideration the exchange rate and post i would like to make a purchase that has a fairly extensive range that covers the basics. For example bm has release a beautiful range of artillery for the sudan but no crews to man them
Were's the sailors? Whats the point of purchasing guns without the gunners?

Very nice keep up the good work, tho my credit card may explode!

I am totally committed to Blue Moon but I do have some sympathy for Stephens view, I have hundreds ( more ! ) of Zulus painted, based and ready to go, was really pleased to see the Anthony Wayne range launched, have loads ready to go but waiting for the range to be finished same with the US Mex war, I think BM have a strategy of releasing lots of initial packs to see how the ranges sell, can understand this but if the range doesn't take of.f it leaves those that took the plunge high and dry

Blue Moon is no different than any other company out there, we make a product and put it out into the market amidst competition of already existing companies as well as the 5 or 6 new companies coming on to the playing field to join in the game.

This grand mix of figures has been both a blessing and curse to the gaming community. It offers greater variety, but it also cuts into the expansion of what both old and new companies want to do.

For companies that have been around awhile, like Blue Moon, this means that sometimes releases on existing ranges will slow down while we try and add to what is moving and shaking off the shelves. For new companies, it may mean the end of the line as their eggs are in one basket and people have now moved on to the next greatest thing to catch their eye.

But, to assure you, Blue Moon is working hard to meet the goals which it has set for each line that it introduces. Plus, we also listen to those that purchase Blue Moon
products, trying hard not to disappoint them.

I support Stephen's viewpoint. While I wouldn't
maliciously pound my chest and pledge non support for anyone not releasing a complete range as a gamer I prefer to get all my figures for a period from one company if possible.

If the range doesn't have everything I need I either buy someone else's figures or hold off doing that period or army until the range is pretty much complete.

From the manufacturer side most people don't recognize the time and expense to do a complete range. Completing the Sudan range might be achievable but a complete Napoleonic range being released all at once would be crazy and a bit unrealistic.

On the flip side, a manufacturer has to factor in that a range may be slower moving because they are missing some needed components.

The good news for Blue Moon is people are clammering for their figures so you know there is demand.

BM should at least show some amorous affection for the Prussians and flesh out that line of figures! wink wink

Don't get me going on that one Mr. T!

The armies I am waiting for them to do are the very last ones they plan on working on…no matter how much I pester them.

The Blue Moon horses look particularly good in this range. Very solid and well sculpted.

If someone demands a range be totally "complete" from one company before a purchase it may be difficult to begin any army or period from any company?

I'll give you that, but it would take so little to add a few packs to the Prussians to make them a playable army. And the Prussians were everywhere. I'll stop now before I raise the good Doctor's blood pressure. wink BTW I have always been an OG booster.

Ok russ complete maybe the wrong word. I see your point. But i cant comprehend why any manufacturer would release artillery without the crew and vice versa. The sudan range of artillery was released april last year and there are crews for the artillery pieces but none for the machine guns? I have bought figures from other manufacturers that do cover the basics. To be fair i feelthat my concern is not unreasonable.

Hi Russ,

Any new regarding the release of Napoleonic French Guard?

alas --the end of the world has not yet arrived. All of the Blue moon projects/ranges I consider on going works in progress and never really "completed" so most people concerns will be addressed sooner or later.

After looking at this I went back and looked into the Machine gun teams for the colonials -- I was unaware that --although they had been sculpted they had fallen between the cracks of "new releases" and remained unmolded? These will be coming along now and Stephen Phillip you will be entitled to what you need (on the house) for bringing this to my attention -- thanks. Just remind us of this when you order please.

It will still be a month or so as we are covered up to our heads in molds for all the Napoleonic limbers, cassons, forges, wagons, etc --we will however get them in the program.
We have a entire, dacian, sarmation, and Roman army that has been waiting its turn for molding going on 5 months now.
Stephen, like I said just remind me us when you order that you are owed these crews. Thanks again !!
