Can't see this being good value for money as it's about the same content as a magazine at over double the price. They'd probably do better by reducing the price and selling more.

The fact that they have been publishing annuals and summer annuals going back to 2010 would seem to indicate that there is a market for the product and that sufficient numbers of buyers DO think that there is value.

On the production side, you are getting sturdier card covers which gives the book more permanence than a paperback magazine. Also the format lends itself to including a lot of short "how to do it" types of articles that augment the longer feature articles. Finally, the stable of contributor-writers has always been strong in this series and that has always been one of the strengths of these books.

Sorry to disagree with you, but I see plenty of value in the Annual books and I have bought every single one to date.

I have only bought a couple of the annuals, because I'm not really a historical player, but I've enjoyed them, and thought them worth the money.

I have the first three or four of these and I think they are really good. However they are not (to me) worth more than say a couple of magazines would cost so IMHO are too expensive. I'll pick them up when I see them but only if they are <£10.

I have them all…not cheap but lots of good material

I've got a couple of these, I find them good value.

It's easy to compare to the price of a magazine which are half full of adverts and help cover the costs.

The annuals I've got do not have adverts so hence a higher cover price.

I no longer buy any wargames magazine, as I do not find any of them value for money.
