These are looking good. I especially like the NCO pack! The only problem is whether to paint them up up in early war Blue and white or later war khaki?

I think you could paint them up in blue/white, white, khaki, blue/khaki, white/khaki from the 1880's to early 1900's.Does anybody know why the marines in the Boxer Rebellion wore an all blue uniform?

marco56: It's been a long while since I read about Le Bleu Mécanique uniform, but IIRC, it was a short-lived, hot-weather experiment in denim cloth, which the French Navy decided to test in China.

Notable in it's absence, in that the French Legation in Pekin was defended by Fusilier Marins (armed French sailors), the Mechanic Blue wouldn't be seen in China until the reinforcements arrived, after the relief of the legations.

Or so I think. None of my books on the topic are at hand.
