Just bought my copy and it looks great, I wish I could have got some more play test games in, but real life got in the way. However going to be back to normal soon and will be doing a campaign of this. Plus there is a donation to a good cause with every purchase. |

Can someone explain the comment that implies that a single player would have trouble controlling more that a half dozen ships? I would really like a set of rules where an entire fleet can be handled by one player. |

The game uses the standard Ganesha activation system, if you're familiar with it, so I think you could probably go higher than six ships per player, up to maybe 10 or 12 (like the number of figures you handle in Ganesha's other games). But there could be some risk of the game slowing down, and you'd probably want to have a bigger playing surface, because once you roll a turnover (failing two or more of a ship's activation dice) all of your remaining sailing ships (at least) have to do their move in the direction they face. So you could have a traffic jam on hand. The slow-down would be because you'd have more ships to try and remember if they've activated but not moved, and using the optional reload rules, whether their broadsides are loaded or not. I hope to get a game or two in this week to try so I'll have some practical experience on this. |
