Is this the new Osprey set? I had not realized Too Fat Lardies had written it.

Dux Brittanniarum: Lardies large skirmish rules.

Dux Bellorum: Osprey rules by designer of Glutter of Ravens, for battles.

Two different rules. My descriptions of the differences may be found wanting.

Ah, I see. My mistake. Sounds like they will both be worth buying.

Does the Lard set require figures mounted singly?
Hey -I could read the interview-maybe I'll find out!!!

Apparently so, but you only need about 45 individually based figures for an army.

Movement trays as well.

It would be a bit more useful if there was a mechanism where you could actually pre-order the rules. If it is on their website they have concealed it well!

Rich told me he just received the proofs from the printer.
I'm sure the pre-orders will be on the website soon!
I'm a little biased since this is my favorite period of all but I have this feeling the rules are going to be fabulous.
Saw the cards on Saturday and they were simply beautiful.

Movement trays as well.

Love those movement trays as well but all my figures are on 2x2cm steel bases and I really don't want to re-base hundreds of figures
I'll be making my own trays in the 'Captain Blood ' manner I guess.

Sorry chaps, we're not quite ready to take advanced orders yet, we should be doing so early next week as soon as the printer's proofs are approved.

Having seen the proof sheet for the playing cards and fate deck at the Bovington show this weekend I have to say they look absolutely superb.

From WillieB's link, one way of making the rings would be to find some plastic tubing the right internal diameter and saw off thin segments.

I'll have to try and find some.
