I'm no skin flint but £16.22 GBP for a PDF of a rule set doesn't sound like much of a promotional sale discount?

*blink*
$24.99 USD for a PDF.

Uhmmmm… NO.

Something not mentioned on the Lulu page is that it's a supplement for Brink of Battle. That I will still need to buy at 22.95 for the PDF or 29.95 for paper

Has anyone seen anything about this game? I looked for reports here on TMP but haven't seen much of anything other than one main review.

From what I read, Brink of Battle is reasonably well regarded and won an award or two. I own the rules and have read them but not played. With that massive caveat, I wasn't hugely impressed – it seemed pretty fiddly. The idea of breaking warfare down into 3 eras with rule variations for each was smart, but it's certainly on the involved side as far as systems go.

After trying a few skirmish rulesets BoB is my favourite one, it gives the best compromise in detail and playability in every period, only drawback is the toolbox approach, you have to add the flavour to the game yourself, Epic heroes is just a lot more tools, but they work, you get fast, exciting and coherent games where it really matters if you are bringing a LMG, a revolver, a blunderbuss or a handgonne.
Before BoB and Epic Heroes the problem for me was finding a good ruleset for a given period or situation, now I can get any good scenario from any other ruleset , any period and play it with the same mechanics.
Epic Heroes includes all the necessary to play historical scenarios with heroic, movie-like feats, weird war, Mordheim, mythos… Adjusting the amount of fantasy or magic you want to include.
Add the free sci fi notes and there's really no limits.
I find it cheap.

Love this game. One of the best skirmish games around that fits into every genre of play. My friends all enjoy this game and enjoy the mechanics as well as how smooth the mechanics work. At least it hasn't gone through the numerous editions as other game companies have. I'm sure players have shelled out a lot of cash for the latest edition of some game rules which they later complain about. BoB remains consistent and fun and you can use any miniatures you like. You'll also be supporting the small guy who puts out a quality product.
