I agree its kind of a silly name, but it does sound like it might be just what I'm looking for to game with my 28mm AWI and ACW figures.

I bought the rules recently. They've been available from Dadi & Piombo for a while. If you search around, there are a few brief reviews of them. There's 1 video review on youtube, but IIRC, it talks more about how the scenario played instead of the game mechanics. & there are a couple of reviews on the Smooth & Rifled site
smooth-and-rifled.blogspot.com

The rules have some interesting mechanics to simulate the fog of war. I'm guessing they were written in Italian & translated into English, & it seems to have suffered a bit for it.

I keep accidently calling them "Smooth & Bored" because the name makes me think of a smooth bored musket.

Yeah, I told them that, too.
