Yes they are 28mm.

Big problem now. Peter Pig's recent releases had me decided on 15mm for TtMatB then I saw these masterpieces. Why is life never straight forward?

Why is life never straight forward?

Because then it would not be a challenge nor fun!

These Empress figures are great looking!

Well of course they're nice – they're sculpted by Paul Hicks.

Who should be doing Napoleonics instead.

This range gets better and better!!
I only wish Paul can be talked to do French as well at some stage..
And Russians.
Austrians, of course.
Italians.
Jonny Turk and Aussies and maybe all of those Arabs riding on camels through the desert with Mr Lawrence.

Ups.. I might got carried away a little :-)

Cheers

I believe he did sculpt some for Victrix – and I think Brigade carries them now.

I sure wish he was still doing his Bolt Action line… Those were great figures back then, already! His current work is amazing!

I suppose one could use these as Very British Civil War figures, as well. Perhaps a bit dated in uniform and equipment, maybe they were TA units?

Absolutely amazing! I've got the older ones he did for musketeer sitting on my painting desk at the moment. These lads make me think they might sit there a while longer while I figure out if I should just sell them and pick these chaps up instead.

Anyone carry mutton chop in the states?

kallman25 Jul 2014 7:38 p.m. PST

Contact Steve Mines at Age of Glory. He carries Mutton Chop.

Paul says that the Musketeer Tommies and the Empress Tommies are made from the same armatures and are compatible, although someone mentioned that the Empress figs have thicker bases.

So the moral of the story is that you can buy and paint both ranges! Or buy them and tell yourself that you're going to paint them very soon. After you buy and paint something else.

Beautiful figures. When did British officers carry swagger sticks, or is that only in comedy movies?

kallman27 Jul 2014 10:21 a.m. PST

With so many wonderful 28 mm models for WW I what rule system would folks recommend. Or is this conflict really best suited for 15/18mm or perhaps smaller especially in regards the front in Europe? Thoughts?

Not my period, but man those are awesome looking figures. Great sculpts.
