Fantastic figures. Full of life & action.

I particularly like the chap falling off his horse. Without stirrups, it must have been hard to stay on.

I think he is firing from under his horse's neck, a tactic that some plains Indians used.

Yes, that was known as "Sioux side" but other tribes did it as well. There was a rope around the horse that had a loop that the rider's foot went through to help with the whole deal.

The northern plains Indians are to this day unbelievably fantastic horsemen. They still learn to ride about as soon as they can walk.
