David Lavictoire (DLAVICTO@ppc.cdnpeacekeeping.ns.ca) reports in on the playtesting:

If the new edition incorporates the playtest changes that have been floating around, then the new Clash of Armor will be a considerable improvement over the first edition. The first version is pretty abysmal, but the revised rules are fast and efficient, without losing the innovation of the original rules. For example, fire combat has been streamlined, but uses the same data charts as the original rules. Similarly, the action/reaction sequence of play has been retained, but the mechanism of activating troops during your 'bound' is less random.

This is currently the set of choice for our club. I especially appreciate the emphasis on command and control, but the level of detail may be a little too low for the real tread-heads.
