Play for Blood

A small-unit, two-player skirmish game set in the American Old West. This initial rule offering is meant to be miniature agnostic, meaning use whatever minis you want.

Play as your favorite historical cowboy, outlaw or lawman, or make up your own in this fast-paced skirmish game designed to be played on a 24" x 24" gaming area. Easy-to-learn rules get you up and playing in no time, and most games last no more than 45 minutes.

Play for Blood utilizes a D6 dice-pool mechanic, and incorporates a simple playing-card aspect for things like initiative and turn interrupts.

This rulebook also includes two starter scenarios to ease you into the gameplay, offers some optional rules to spice up your games, and printable character cards for your posses.

What you'll need to start playing:

  • 5 Western minis per posse
  • a handful of six-sided dice (D6)
  • a tape measure
  • a deck of playing cards
  • a 2' x 2' playing area with some things to act as terrain

If you have a love for Westerns and small-unit-size skirmish games, give Play for Blood a try.
