I have a feeling that there will be plenty of fireballs around the battlefield if you field a platoon of these vehicles.

That said, I have a feeling that it takes a brave or foolish man to operate one of those flamethrowers on this sort of vehicle in combat, considering the short range of the weapon itself, limited amount of cover provided by the gunshield, and the chance of becoming a primary target for a lot of enemy infantrymen in the vicinity.

Ready to incinerate the foes of the Third Reich, our next plastic Bolt Action vehicle sees the Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf D half-track with its plastic upgrade to the flamethrowing Sd.Kfz 251/16 flammpanzerwagen! You can place your order for this lethal halftrack…

With the paint still drying, here are the first pics!

Sd.Kfz 251/16 flammpanzerwagen

Mounting two flamethrowers into a Sd.Kfz 251 Ausf D Hanomag, this vehicle is bound to be a popular addition to German armies. Six of these vehicles were assigned to each panzergrenadier regiment. Flame on!

The two flame projectors mounted on the 251/16 were backed up by the usual shield-mounted MG34 or MG42, and an additional portable (albeit still attached by pipe to the halftrack) smaller caliber flamethrower which could be used by dismounted infantry. The crew would don protective headgear, from full hoods to heavy scarves and goggles. Plenty of conversion opportunities here!
