Autumn 1812. Napoleon's Grand Army leaves devastated Moscow. The Russian Tsar Alexander has not made peace, and Kutuzov's Russian army is blocking the path to the East. Napoleon is forced to retreat to Poland along the Smolensk Road.
The time of battles in full dress, the time of waving banners and war drums, the time of great victories – this time has passed. The Russian army will avoid large battles, but will prefer the tactics of hundreds of small skirmishes with the forces of partisan detachments, exhausting and destroying the Grand Army along the entire route.
As a junior officer in the Russian army, you cannot change this. But you can assemble and lead such a partisan detachment, and successfully complete dozens of skirmishes with a scenario – your own or those proposed by the authors of the rules.
