Guards of Traitor's Toll: Skirmish Adventure Game
Gameplay is semi-cooperative. Both players control a Guard Captain and patrol of five guardsmen, who must deal with the many challenges hidden among the crowds. Such tasks might be capturing an escaped prisoner, battling a crazed wizard, locating a lost child, taking down a smuggling gang, or investigating a mystery. While they have the same goals, each side is trying to make the most arrests, grab the glory, and win recognition (and reward) from their superiors. Gain experience, recruit allies, and locate useful items – the odd bribe will be useful too. A degree of violence will be necessary, but killing suspects will upset the populace. If there is too much discontent, the people riot and rebel – the city lords will be furious (and both players lose). The game has a strong narrative, legacy element as your guards develop new skills and learn secrets that impact subsequent tasks as well as later games. Models supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Contents: 36 Multi-part 28mm plastic figures (24 Cityfolk, 12 City Guards); 112 page rulebook (includes city map, background, and story-driven linked campaign); 108 gaming cards (24 Recruitment cards, 2 Identify cards, 6 Trait cards, 18 Plot cards, 2 Major Plot cards, 37 Secret cards, 15 Advance cards); 8 custom dice; 1 D6; 108 counters; 36 dual-use plastic bases. $95.00 USD

Against the Odds #61: Rome, IInc. – From Diocletian to Heraclius
ROME, IInc. is a game of the Late Roman Empire (the period from Diocletian to Heraclius) for solitaire play or two co-operating players. A sequel to the Charles Roberts award-winning Rome, Inc., (Augustius to Diocletian), you again will be running the Roman Empire like a business, but this time the barbarians are well and truly at the gates. Together the players operate behind the scenes, promoting and removing emperors, governors and the occasional pope.
Control the mechanics of a failing empire, choosing five distinct starting points (286CE, 363CE, 425CE, 497CE, or 565CE) and run scenarios lasting 10 to 50 turns, depending on your corporate acumen and endurance. Each turn represents five to ten years, with ten turns in each of the five scenarios. If you already own Rome, Inc., you can extend the game into Rome, IInc. for a truly epic 90-turn game charting the rise and fall of history's greatest empire.
Historical statesmen are not only rated for their abilities as a commander, administrator and intriguer, but their devotion to the Christian orthodoxy, and each has a special ability to give him an edge. The map consists of provinces grouped into the four great commands of Gaul, Italy, Illyria and the Orient, each commanded by a governor. Provinces may be given to foederati barbarian allies to guard the frontier or plagued by heretics. Beyond these is the dreaded Attila the Hun, driving lesser barbarians from their homelands, and pillaging his way from province to province until defeated.
You decide where to allocate resources (capital spending), raise new forces (hiring), undertake prestige projects (public relations), pleasing the church (shareholders), or even setting aside a reserve for a rainy decade or two. You need to blend military acumen with careful administration, as well as intrigue, making the most of what you have each turn, just like any modern-day business. Rome, IInc. will give you a new perception of how war is a cost, business is a benefit, and empire is somewhere in between. It's up to you to find a balance.

The Life of Sir Stanley Maude, Lieutenant General, K.C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O.
Lieutenant General Maude is perhaps unfortunately mostly remembered for his part in the evacuation of Gallipoli. During the evacuation, Maude worked hard to ensure that Headquarters Kit was evacuated, whether by this he meant the headquarters paperwork or his personal kit is unknown, but he arrived at the beach just minutes before the last boat left. This pushes into the background his service in the Boer War, as well as his brigade command at the beginning of the 1st World War in France, and then his hard work in Mesopotamia leading to the recapture of Kut and Baghdad in 1917. $47.00 USD

Thunderbolt to the Rebels: The United States Sharpshooters in the Civil War
Sharpshooters were the elite of the Union army. Tells the story of these Civil War deadeyes on battlefields from Antietam to Gettysburg and beyond. During the first year of the Civil War, Hiram Berdan proposed the creation of a unit of marksmen armed with Sharps Rifles, and thus were born the 1st and 2nd U.S. Sharpshooters. Drawn heavily from the Upper Midwest and New England, as well as Pennsylvania, the soldiers had to pass a marksmanship test to join: ten shots in a 10"-diameter circle from 200 yards. Draws on primary sources, especially eyewitness accounts, to reveal how these elite marksmen lived, fought and died during the Civil War. Contains eight maps and 13 tables. $35.00 USD

The 14th King George's Own Sikhs: The 1st Battalion (K.G.O.) (Ferozepore Sikhs), The 11th Sikh Regiment
14th Ferozepore Sikhs was raised in 1846 after First Anglo-Sikh War from former soldiers of Sikh army. The regiment originally recruited local Sikhs and Punjabi Muslims, but in 1866, Punjabi Muslims were phased out and the regiment became a single-class regiment of Sikhs. In the 1922 reorganization, 14th Ferozepore Sikhs was designated 1st Battalion of 11th Sikh Regiment. The regiment is best known for their part in the Third Battle of Krithia at Gully Ravine, suffering casualties of 12 out of 15 British officers and 11 out of 14 Indian officers. In addition, they lost 380 out of 514 men dead and wounded. $43.00 USD

Operations of the Mounted Troops of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force
The E.E.F. came into being in March 1916 from the remnants of the British troops from Gallipoli and the troops already in Egypt, although it lost ten of its fourteen infantry divisions to other theaters in quick order. The multinational force of Australians, New Zealanders, Indians, and British Territorial troops became a strategic reserve for the British Army. This book was originally published as a series of ten articles in the Cavalry Journal between 1921 and 1923. The articles were an attempt to bring together learning from what was probably the last major cavalry campaign. $47.00 USD

Campaigning in Gallipoli: Diary
Published in August 1916, just seven months after the evacuation of Gallipoli, detailing events and his thoughts and observations during the campaign. Many of these observations are highly critical of the Gallipoli campaign and are more important for the fact that they were not the product of hindsight like many accounts that were published after the war. $27.00 USD

Peninsula Press: Gallipoli News Sheet
The Peninsula Press was a news-sheet produced throughout the campaign from May 1915 to Jan 1916. Initially it was produced daily, but as the campaign continued, it reduced in frequency to weekly. Except for the first issue, it was always a single sheet with two columns containing a wide range of information covering military information from all of the other theaters, as well as political stories from around the world. It also on occasion included information on actions that had taken place on the Gallipoli Peninsula. All 96 editions have been brought together in this single volume. $37.00 USD

The Campaign in Gallipoli
Major General Hans Kannengeisser was initially employed to conduct an inspection of the Ottoman forces in Northern Anatolia, to assess their ability to mobilize for war; but on the outbreak of war, he found that his role would significantly change. Initially expecting to be recalled to Germany, he was given the Ottoman rank of Pasha and led the 9th Division of Von Sanders' 5th Army during the Gallipoli campaign. This book offers a rare opportunity to study the campaign on Gallipoli from the Central Powers' side, and takes care to pay tribute to the courage of all the combatant nations. $43.00 USD

Regimental History of the 1st Battalion, 8th Punjab Regiment
The 89th Punjabis had a distinguished record of WWI service, and have the unique distinction of claiming to have served in more theaters of war than any other unit of the British Empire. These included: Aden (Yemen), Egypt, Gallipoli, France, Mesopotamia, North West Frontier of India, Salonika (Greece), and the Russian Transcaucasia, where they served from 1918-20 as part of the British Expeditionary Force. $43.00 USD

A Record of the 58th Rifles Frontier Force in the Great War, 1914-1919
Vaughns Rifles was originally raised in 1849 as the 5th Regiment of Punjab Infantry. During WWI, the regiment was sent with Force A to France to serve with the 21st Infantry Brigade part of the 7th Meerut Division. At the end of 1915, the regiment was sent to Egypt, where it initially served with the 31st Indian Brigade, and then in 1916, it was transferred to the 20th Indian Brigade. It then served with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force for the remainder of the war. This volume covers the story of the desertion of Jemadar Mir Mast and others of the regiment's Afridi Company. $43.00 USD

Not only was Utah the most isolated of the five D-Day beaches, but the airborne assault was of unprecedented size and complexity. Despite the perils, American troops confidently cascaded into that far corner of Normandy and contributed decisively to the Allied triumph on D-Day. With verve and authority, Balkoski describes how that victory was won. Contains 35 black-and-white photos. $25.00 USD

Iwo Jima: The Marine Corps' Epic Victory
The campaign for Iwo Jima (Operation Detachment) from 19 February to 26 March 1945 pitted the U.S.M.C. Fifth Amphibious Corps (VAC) and the U.S.N.'s Fifth Fleet against the IJA 109th Division and assorted IJN ground troops under the command of Lieutenant General Tadamichi Kuribayashi. After neutralizing Japanese air assets on Iwo Jima, the objective was to seize Iwo Jima's two completed airfields in the southern and central sectors and make them operational after the heavy pre- and post-invasion aerial, naval and Marine artillery bombardment. U.S.A.A.F. 7th Fighter Command would then have a base from which to escort the four-engine B-29 heavy bombers on their Japanese Home Islands' raids from their Mariana Islands bases, and to provide emergency airfields for battle-damaged or low-on-fuel Superfortresses on their return flight that otherwise would have crashed in the sea.
The combined American force numbered over 100,000 troops against 20,933 Japanese soldiers and sailors. Kuribayashi's defenses were so well-fortified with caves, tunnels and daunting terrain that the VAC lost 6,821 KIA and 19,217 wounded compared to approximately 18,000 Japanese troops KIA or MIA with only 216 prisoners taken. In a 'mopping up' phase to clear the remaining Japanese hidden in the island's caves, the Army's 147th IR, 37th Division captured an additional 867 prisoners. This epic U.S.M.C. campaign resulted in an unprecedented ratio of three American casualties for every two Japanese soldiers. In all, 2,251 emergency B-29 landings were made saving the lives of almost 25,000 aircrew members. The flag raisings atop Mount Suribachi on 23 February 1945 galvanized American morale at home. Wagner Group – Private Military Company: Volume 1 – Establishment, Purpose, Profile and Historic Relevance 2013-2023
Examines the predecessors to the Wagner Group, its activities in a number of conflicts around the world, and its armed mutiny against the top leadership of the Russian Federation. Examines the emergence of the Wagner Group, its connection to the Russian government, security and intelligence services, and its operations in Syria, Libya, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Venezuela as an extension of Russian foreign policy, often displacing Western interests, and as a private organization primarily concerned with securing access to the world's oil and mineral resources for its owners and sponsors.
