Though the Khanate expend their troops' lives without care, the same cannot be said of the Pertinax soldiers. From the few prisoners we have taken, these aliens do not seem as fanatical as the others. No Malig has ever conversed, no Betrayer been converted back to Humanity. Give a captured Pertinax an unloaded weapon, and he will start to dissemble it along with any other devices to hand. This requires more study. Perhaps an unlikely alliance could happen in the future.

Above are the known 'client races' of the mysterious Shia Khan, who fight for them in countless legions. Though called 'clients' they are little more than slaves or cannon fodder in most cases. Pertinax are not like Malig Space Goblins or Human Betrayers, though, as their technical skill makes them very useful. They can crew all of the vehicles, such as the Pugnus, and the portable weapon platforms too. Cruel Legionaries are the mainstay of a legion.
