ENGLISH CIVIL WAR OPERATIONS MANUAL: Insights Into the History, Weaponry and Tactics

English Civil War Operations Manual: Insights Into the History, Weaponry and Tactics From 1640 to 1660, the English Civil War was a divisive and disruptive episode in English history, when loyalties were tested and saw family set against family, brother against brother, and neighbor against neighbor. This book begins with an outline of the course of the conflict, including accounts of the main battles and notable events in the war. Then it reviews the organization and structure of the two opposing forces, their commanders, and the armies – the Royalists (also known as Cavaliers) and the Parliamentarians (the Roundheads). Next, a description of weapons and how they were used – mortar, cannon, musket (matchlock and flintlock), swords, and pike, followed by equipment, uniforms and armor. The next section covers battlefield tactics involving musketeers, pikemen and cavalry. The book ends with the war's aftermath and the insights gained through archaeology. $37.00 USD

For years, its theater of operations were full of activity, including the 1522 attempted recovery of the castle of Behobia by French troops supported by German Lansquenet mercenaries, but opposed by contingents of Guipuzcoans and Castilians in the battle of the rock of Aldabe de Irun, now known as Mount San Marcial. WORLD AT WAR #74: Munich War Two-player operational-level simulation of a hypothetical World War II in Europe that began in the fall of 1938. The assumption is that the British and French governments did not back down at the September 1938 Munich conference when Hitler demanded the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia, and instead went to war with the Third Reich. The ensuing conflict finds the powers partially prepared for war. The objective is for each alliance to seize a position from which it can then dominate Europe. One player commands the Axis (Germany and aligned countries) and one player controls the Allies (anti-German forces). Each hex on the map represents 65 kilometers or 40 miles. Units are at the corps and army level. Each game turn represents one week of operations, with the game covering the first two months of the war. Components: One 22x34-inch map, 176 die-cut counters, and magazine. $40.00 USD

Modern War #50: Putin Moves East Operational-strategic level two-player wargame covering a struggle for control between the Russian-led Eurasian Union and a coalition of opposing states led by the People's Republic of China to gain control of the Far East. Among other things, the game presumes a breakdown in Russian-Chinese relations leading to open belligerency. Units represent operational task forces of corps or reinforced size; special forces; airpower; and cyberwar. Additionally, paramilitary forces play a significant role in the game rules. The objective of each player is to seize critical resource, industrial, and communications centers, thereby gaining control of the Far East. Each hex on the map represents 100 kilometers from side to side. Each turn of play represents anything from three days of intense combat to a couple weeks of refitting. Ground units represent mostly corps-sized task forces. Special forces units are regiments, brigades or groupings of cadres. Components: One 22x34-inch map, 176 counters, and magazine. $40.00 USD
