MechWarrior: Dark Age, the premier science fiction collectable miniatures game from WizKids LLC, has been nominated for a T.O.T.Y. (Toy of the Year) Marketing Campaign of the Year Award by the nationally recognized Toy Industry Association (T.I.A.). MechWarrior: Dark Age was nominated because of WizKids' unique and innovative marketing program designed to promote product longevity, brand awareness and in-store retail sales through its 5,000 volunteers, participating retailers, website and other activities. The awards will be distributed at New York's annual Toy Fair Trade Show in February 2003. For more information on the T.O.T.Y. awards, visit totyawards.org.

"We feel tremendously honored to be nominated for this award," said WizKids Executive Vice President Martin Stever. "The other Marketing Campaign of the Year Award nominees are all top-notch, major game manufacturers such as Mattel, Disney and Hasbro. We are honored to be counted among their number. This nomination truly represents the work of hundreds of individuals who contribute to the promotion of MechWarrior. Our efforts range from classic and Web-based marketing and advertising efforts to the incredible Approved Play program developed by our Community Development department and the amazing cooperation of thousands of retail and volunteer partners."

MechWarrior: Dark Age sold more than four million figures within the first three months of release, and over 4,500 MechWarrior gaming events take place at participating retail locations every month. The first MechWarrior expansion, Fire for Effect, will release in February 2003.
