Encounter at Villalba
July 26th, 1938
Background:
After crossing the Ebro at Flix, the Republicans advance further south and take the town of La Fatterella. The attack was stopped from Nationalist defenders at the town of Villalba de los Arcos and the crossroads of Cuatro Caminos.
Scenario:
The Republicans must capture the town to accomplish their task to unite the Republican territories. They must also link up at Gandesa. They must hold on to the crossroads and Faristol Hill.
The Spanish Civil War was a brutal event in the history of modern times. After the Republican Socialist government was elected, many changes began to happen in government and how the Spanish nation was run. With their Soviet Communist allies influencing their direction, the Republican government pushed the nation too far, resulting in a revolt of the Spanish people who did not want communism, the loss of private property, and the destruction of religion.
