Mike OBrien writes:

So my basic level question is, with the cost of ink and paper, how is this cost effective on a home printer or is it better to go to Kinko's or some other place and print out the stuff using their paper and ink?
This is a serious question because this item interests me but why pick it up if the cost isn't worth it?

Meadow Fences & Walls

Meadow Fences & Walls

From MiniLab Models

A simple wall or fence can sometimes turn the tide of a battle, hampering a cavalry charge or providing cover or a defense position for infantry.

With this set, you will be able to re-create on your table most common types of fences and walls used throughout the ages to divide fields (or town districts), handle livestock, surround villages, inns, farms, manors, orchards or vineyards.

Despite the name, with some creativity you will find many other uses for elements of this set.

Similar constructions were used for shed and workshop walls, internal walls in houses, reinforcing earthworks, river banks, wharfs in ports or docks in ancient or medieval towns, as field fortifications, or in siege works. Possibilities are countless.

In this multi-layered PDF, you will find:

  • Detailed models of six common pre-industrial-era fence types – wicker bundle or hazel-slat wattles, post fences with fascine or split-plank fill, dry stone and turf bricket walls. With short description of each type.
  • Simplified versions for fast and easy use, or advanced options for best visual effect
  • Color or hue options for most fences
  • Non-repetitive textures for each fence type
  • Special elements for turf and stone walls, such as wedges or damaged sections
  • Detailed assembly instructions and general tips
  • Basing elements

You will need:

  • Printer and paper (160-180 gsm or 90-120 lbs. recommended)
  • Hobby knife and/or scissors
  • Glue (clear drying PVA glue recommended)
  • A ruler or straight angle may be useful

Dimensions:

Wattle fences
25mm (~1") or 40mm (~1.75") high and ~15cm (6") long
Plank fences
25mm (~1") or 40mm (~1.75") high; 7,5cm (3") long
Fascine fence
25mm (~ 1") high; 7.5 and 15cm (3 and 6L) long
Turf and dry stone
25 or 40mm (~1/1.7") high with basic elements 7.5 or 15cm

This set is designed for 28-30mm miniatures, but you can easily adjust it for smaller scales simply by reducing the size percentage in your printer settings.
