This issue is the second in the series entitled Armies & Battles, in support of Magna Acies!, our "battle size" rules for 3D wargames for the Ancient period (to use these pages, therefore, you must have the basic rulebook).
We deal here with the wars between Rome and the Hellenistic rulers of the Middle East (Antiochus and Mithridates, above all), the Jugurtine War, and the civil war between Caesar and Pompey; they were rather complex and sometimes very difficult wars to win, in which small, well-trained armies often ended up prevailing over much larger but less organized armies.
Rome emerged from these wars as the only power of the Western world, but to continue to win, it had to adapt once again the way of fighting the legions to the new enemies and to the great military operations conducted overseas.
This supplement is essentially composed of three elements: three "quickstart scenarios" (with attached game tables), eleven army lists (also with attached game tables), and six "battle maps".
Available in English and Italian.
