We are very pleased to release our latest 15mm sci-fi range, the Stikks, sentient insectoid aliens.
The Stikks are human-sized and, whilst they may fight in formations humans recognize, as insectoids they would have their own unique psychology and tactics which you can incorporate into your gameplay.
The basic building block of the Stikk military is the Stikk Rifle Pod of ten bugs – six with a gauss gun, three with the heavy gauss gun, and a pod leader.
Each Mega-Pod typically has three Stikk Weapons Pods, each with a fully automatic double heavy gausser and a mortar. These can either be attached to the rifle pods on a one-per basis, or concentrated at Mega-Pod level.
The Stikk Crikket Infantry Cannon is typically attached at Mega-Pod level as well, one per. This strange weapon has legs, seeming to be almost alive as it is coaxed about by its crew, making it very mobile for such a large weapon. It can fire either AT or HE rounds.
Appearing to be a completely different species, perhaps from a different homeworld altogether, the Stikk Assault Crabs do not need to wear any armor at all (other Stikks typically wear light reflective armor), as their carapaces are so thick that they are virtually as well-protected as a human in power armor. These powerful creatures excel at close combat, and are usually called in as specialists to storm fixed positions.
Hovering overhead, with a dexterity that is the envy of other species, is the Stikk Odonate Light Gunship – whether this is a synthetic organism or a crewed light vehicle (or both) is still a matter of uncertainty to Federal scientists. It is small but well protected and armed, making it a useful support platform for Stikk assaults. (By the way, this craft may be classified as light, but the casting is 100% solid pewter!)
Finally, at the heavy point of every Stikk assault is the redoubtable Stikk Skuttler Tank/Transport. Mounting two heavy cannons in the cockpit ("head"), this heavily armored battering ram also carries Stikks in its legged middle body segments, who emerge via platform doors on the bottom of each segment. These craft can have as few as two middle sections (with four legs for support) but they are usually seen with at least three, and have been spotted with as many as ten mid-sections. The basic kit has two sections, as we thought we'd leave it up to you how long you wanted the vehicle to end up! The image above shows a very powerful Skuttler which has four additional midsections (the basic kit comes with two midsections). In the tail is a comms array to link the vehicle to the rest of the Stikk-Net. This kit is incredibly posable – possibly the most posable vehicle kit ever released! – and with a little imagination, can be modeled in all sorts of dynamic positions, especially with the help of a temporary jig (I made a jig of coins to hold the segments in place when building the model above).
In addition to the individual codes above, we've also made the Stikk infantrybugs available in a Mega-Pod Deal at a reduced price, with three rifle pods, three weapons pods, and a Crikket infantry cannon team. All models are available now on our store, at the "for more information" link below. The Stikk infantry and Odonate gunship were sculpted by Mike Lovejoy, except the Assault Crabs which were sculpted by Ben Siens. The Skuttler was designed by John Bear Ross. All the models were painted by Chris Yaro, except the Assault Crabs which were painted by Spacejacker. Thanks, guys!
