Rigging Vessels for Black Seas

Back to Hobby News

BrianW writes:

It seems that some attribution is in order here. The Warlord guide to doing standing rigging is taken almost verbatim from from the Langton painting/rigging guide.

The Warlord author doesn't mention what size holes need to be drilled in the hull, but he does say in step 3 that they will need to be drilled. Since the Langton guide is for 1/1200 ships, they give very specific sizes (.5 and .7 millimeters). The Langton guide also mentions the trick about stiffening the end of the thread with super glue to make it fit through the hole better.

I'm not saying this isn't a useful guide. I'm just saying that the author should acknowledge the original source.

Rigged ship

Though Black Seas miniatures are fantastically detailed in and of themselves, you can take them to another level by using thread to attach rigging lines to your ships.
