And if 'guns are for sissies,' then why is the girl at right holding an AR?

Because it's not gentlemanly to bash a woman in the face with a sledgehammer unless she has been shooting an automatic weapon at you.

But seriously (as much as that term can be applied to this game), guns are grossly underpowered in RitR. They are good for early shaping of the upcoming conflict – coralling, wasting minions before they can raise the alarm, forcing opponents into cover – but definitely will not win the day for you.

This game is more about surge and risk. Do I finish this guy off with the trash can, or do I throw it at his partner hoping to knock him back off the ledge? If I try to run over that guy will I hit him, or that dumpster he is standing next to? If I stay here to shoot her last two henchmen, will she have enough guts to jump off that shipping container and land that crowbar in my skull?

All in all, better than going to another motivational seminar for work.

Wargame Vault announces the availability of:

Rumble in the Rubble

Rumble in the Rubble

Publisher: Irrational Number Line Games, LLC

Rumble in the Rubble is a fast-paced, hard-hitting game of action hero combat set in everyone's favourite location – the construction site! Guns are for sissies. Fists are all you can count on. But a chainsaw or cinder block will help in a pinch.

The game is designed for 28mm miniatures, so you will need some of them, a couple of fistfuls of coins for the mechanic, and a deck of cards to support some of the vignette and plot-line surprises. There are suggestions for pushing the game outside the rules into new character types, other locations, and additional story arcs.

This 52-page book contains:

  • seven pages of rules
  • twelve scenarios and five plot lines for head-to-head, multi-player, and tournament play
  • 22 pages of terrain flats and easy-build 3D terrain pieces
  • three pages of special ability, weapon, and surprise cards, formatted to print out on a regular laser-printer business-card page

Feel free to muck about inlgames.com and provide your insight, critique, and general ramblings about this game, our free QILS rules, and to check out our terrain and mini conversion tips, as well as get a peek at what lies on the horizon…

Price: $1.99 USD
