Redemption Scheme
Following the initial release of SPQR in 2019, we have been inundated with player feedback concerning the game mechanics. It is always important that we take into account the wisdom of practicing wargamers and humbly recognize some of the issues raised by players in the SPQR community. We have thus taken some of those suggestions, and reworked and streamlined the game system to alleviate these issues, as well as rebalancing and tweaking unit-point structures to promote overall balance.
Despite our goal of increased player enjoyment, we recognize that putting out a new edition so soon after the initial release could be a frustration to current SPQR players. We're therefore introducing a limited-time redemption scheme, to help both existing players and those who have yet to dip their toes into SPQR.
Until 24 March 2021, simply purchase one of the selected SPQR infantry box sets (there's a choice for each currently available SPQR faction) from the Warlord Games webstore or any participating retailers, and you'll receive the revised-edition rulebook completely free.
This offer is strictly limited to one per customer/household. All redemption scheme orders will be shipped at the closure of the redemption scheme period, on 24 March 2021.
Eligible Box Sets
Caesar's Legions
A Warband of Caesar's Legions has perhaps the best soldiers of the ancient world, with access to a large number of weapons and equipment. Man-for-man, Caesar's Legions will be very hard to beat, but will always be outnumbered by lesser men.
As part of the SPQR Revised Edition redemption scheme, purchase a box of Caesar's Legions Legionaries with Pilum before 24 March 2021 to get the new rulebook free.

Gaul
The warriors of Gaul were a diverse lot, but each would pledge his sword to a warlord or noble, who would in turn ultimately be under the command of the king. There was no formal standing army but, when the call for war was announced, all able-bodied warriors capable of fighting would be expected to fight.

Macedonia
The rise of true combined-arms forces started with the Macedonians, with armies using phalanxes not to necessarily win battles but hold enemies in place long enough for Alexander's favored cavalry to break them apart.

Dacia & Sarmatia
A warband comprising both Dacians and Sarmatians is immensely flexible, possessing both solid infantry and some of the finest cavalry the Ancient World was to ever see. So long as each side can be integrated with the other, the warband will be able to face any enemy with an immediate advantage, even the Legions of Rome.

Germania
The strength of a Germanic warband lies in its infantry, with most being able to deploy a veritable horde of ferocious warriors. What they lacked in sophisticated tactics or quality of equipment was more than made up for by courage and a desire to take the fight to the enemy, sweeping them aside in wild, terrifying charges.

You are not restricted to warriors from your own army list when constructing SPQR warbands. The option to hire mercenaries can make for some very interesting army compositions, and provide tactical options that may not normally be available to certain warbands.
