Absolutely fantastic, thanks Alan…! I love those skirmishing Cossacks. Just need some guard scout lancers to spa with them.

Hope Alan does the Anhalt in campaign dress in a marching variant as that advancing pose is a nightmare to base :(

Is there a likelyhood you will revisist your 1815 range to do a unit for the 28th RoF and some more senior british command?

Thanks again Alan, beautiful figures!!

I thought it was time for a Napoleonic update, in case you thought we've gone WWII crazy!

Cossacks skirmishing

Don Cossacks

The Cossacks are coming on very well with quite a few packs done, including Don Cossacks in summer and winter dress, Ataman Cossack Polk, and Moscow Horse Opolchenie. Most are designed to be used in units as well as for skirmishing, whilst other codes are designed more for skirmish games (as you can see). Many thanks to Dr. Stephen Summerfield for additional information and research.

For the last 25 years (actually since I started the Foundry Napoleonic range), I've been itching to make the armies of the smaller states of the war. Of course, I needed to get the main armies under my belt first (and, of course, I do realize there's still plenty to do on those, too). The 4th, 5th and 6th Confederation of the Rhine or Rheinbund regiments are well underway, a couple of which are shown here. These colorful units - often made up of different duchies or principalities - had a great mix of French, Prussian and Austrian influences in their uniforms, quite often in one uniform. Peter Bunde of Brigade Plates has been a great help with additional information, but his plates are a 'must have' for all the information you'll need to field these regiments. More minor states, as well as the odd larger one (i.e., Bavaria) will follow…

Other things on my 'metal' workbench include Austrian 'German' Grenadiers and Cuirassiers, and Russian Hussars. The Austrians, Russian and Confederation of the Rhine will start to appear next month. Keep an eye on the metal workbench for updates on these.
