Hello, Deary!
I'm Granny Withering, and I'll be showing you all the ins, outs and entrails of hag life. Or haggling, if you will. Follow my lead and your name will go down in the storybooks as one to be feared. Ignore me and you might as well save those kids the trouble and throw yourself in the oven right now.
You, my deary, are a hag. Not an evil hag. Definitely not. That would be the other hag. She's a real crooked crone, let me tell you. No, you are a good hag and this hamlet is yours. The land is yours. The people in it are yours. You watch over and protect them. Keep them safe from the scary monsters of the forest. Make sure their food stores are always full so they're happy, plump, and delicio— uh happy. Did I say happy? You heal their sick, care for their livestock, and take their babies. But only the unwanted ones. You raise them like any good mother. Teach them to walk, be well-mannered, how to extract a perfectly intact eye of newt. You're not a monster. You would never eat them. That would be a waste. Besides, you can't make goblins out of nothing.
So that's you. Your life in a nutshell. And life is good. At least, it was good until that other hag started messing with your things and saying the hamlet is her's. Where does she get the nerve trying to take what's rightfully yours, just because she was here first?
Right! It's time to show that treacherous little witch who's the bigger hag. Grab your goodies, assemble your minions, give that crone a good kicking, and most importantly stay outta my way.
Hag28 is a miniature-agnostic skirmish wargame for two players on a 3' x 3' board using a handful of six-sided dice (D6). You will fight for the right of dominion over a secluded hamlet, and use resources (Pretties) to buy the Goodies and Minions you need to engage in quick, bloodthirsty battles. With mechanics like Impact and Resolve, you'll see creatures thrown across the battlefield in this dynamic skirmish, and Spite will keep them fighting. You'll take turns activating units and spending Action Points (AP) to capture objectives or hunt down and kill the offending hag. You can also engage in longer-form campaigns that will see your power and minions grow until either your enemy is obliterated or the hamlet reduced to a charred crater. In which case, you'll move on and find a new hamlet to inflict your care upon.
