More for the Bretonnians this week with the new plastic Bowmen regiment box set and King Louen Leoncoeur riding his Hippogryff!
82-07 BRETONNIAN BOWMEN
$30.00 USD / $38.00 CAD
Bretonnian armies commonly include regiments of Peasant Bowmen, among the least corrupted peasants of Bretonnia (though still a bit ragged and smelly) recruited by their feudal lords to defend their lands. Unlike Men-at-Arms, Bowmen are not equipped from the armories of the castle and arrive to battle in all manner of garb. As ragged and smelly as other men-at-arms, their only distinguishing feature is the ability to pull and loose a longbow with reasonable accuracy. Bretonnian bowmen often use trenches and stakes to defend themselves against attack, giving them great defense against charging enemies, or may fight in a looser skirmish formation. They can also fire flaming arrows, making them dangerous for flammable enemies!
This plastic regiment set contains 16 Peasant Bowmen, with separate heads/helmets for each model, plus defensive stakes for them to fire behind. A Command Sprue with Champion, Standard Bearer and Musician figures is included in each box as well. Each Bowmen sprue also includes lots of extra bits like snails, icons, lunch items (turnips mostly), and more – all of which really allow players to show the rag-tag nature of these peasants. You also get braziers for flaming arrows too!
82-08 KING LOUEN THE LIONHEART ON HIPPOGRYPH
$35.00 USD / $50.00 CAD
Louen Leoncoeur is acclaimed as the greatest leader of the Bretonnians since Gilles the Uniter founded the country ages ago. A mighty warrior king, his subjects know well that he is the pinnacle of knightly perfection and honor. Highly skilled on the field of battle and a master of tactics and strategy, he has never known defeat. Commoners and nobles alike speak of Leoncoeur with the same reverence, likening him to the mighty Companions of Gilles from ages past. He is blessed above all other mortals by the Last of the Lake, and some whisper he has even been granted a kiss by his goddess. It is certain that the magical power of the Grail flows in his veins; legend has it that where Leoncouer is cut, light streams out from the wound until it is healed over once more. After more than twenty glorious years on the throne, he still appears to be in the prime of his life even though he is close to his ninetieth year.
King Leoncouer may be chosen as a Lord selection in a Bretonnian army. He rides Beaquis, his loyal Hippogryph, and carries into battle the Crown of Bretonnia, the Sword of Couronne, and the Lion's Shield.
This box set comes complete with King Louen the Lionheart and his Hippogryph. Both bare and helmeted heads are included for the model of the king.
