With a roar which could chill the blood of even the most steadfast soldier, the head of GRN1872-A5-12B exploded in a glitter of metal fragments, as the seven-foot-tall Reptilian celebrated the kill with its Maia Mpi. The headless frame of the Grima collapsed to the dry earth, its Moth Rifle still gripped in metal fingers.

Sergeant Miaram ducked and returned fire with his own Moth Rifle, while his partner fed instructions into the control box at his waist. As the new input was sent out by tight beam laser, the remaining Combat Robots reacted fast, and turned their weapons on the Saurad which had snuck into the shattered dome which had been their 'secure' position.

In a hail of bullets, the four Saurad were flung back into those coming on behind them. Up close, they were terrifying. Bigger than a Man, and broader too. Gaping mouths full of razor-sharp teeth, with eyes of pure malice. Despite their training, the control team for the robotic platoon had the urge to run. To run and hide as their hind-brain told them of the fear of the predator….
