Italian Allies

Both sides of the Punic Wars – Rome and Carthage – had allies from among the Italian (not yet Roman) peoples. These peoples had either long been opposed to Rome or had been conquered recently. Some of them sided with Rome, some immediately rebelled and joined Hannibal's army.

This colorful album not only complements the armies of Rome and Carthage, but also allows you to assemble an independent Samnite/Oscan army. When creating the album, the author used the DBA rules army lists, the Saga rules advice, and hopes that the presented assortment of characters will satisfy many of the rules of tabletop wargames.

The 3-2-1 system allows you to easily move a 12-piece unit around the table while still showing the unit's losses. I find this style optimal for skirmish games.
