New Sikhs & Other Goodies From Askari Miniatures

Norman D Landings writes:

There are suggestions that the Patchett SMG – the forerunner of the Sterling – saw trial use in NWE post D-Day.
IIRC (from previous TMP posts) definite confirmation is scanty.

Featuring a Patchett/Sterling in these packs might make them suitable for post-war use: Kenya, Oman, Aden, Suez, Palestine, India/Pakistan maybe?

(Pretty obvious I'm winging it here – someone who knows their post-WWII conflicts could probably shed a bit more light on it.)

Also… gotta love the SmallMetalGun!

Bren team lying

We've been busy this spring. The latest release is five sets of Sikh infantry in shorts and turbans, designed for the 8th Army in North Africa.

The 4th and 5th Infantry Indian Army Divisions fought in East Africa against the Italian Army, in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia against both the Italian and German Armies, and, after the Italian surrender, against the German Army in Italy.

Sikh Infantry

There are a total of seven sets, including an Indian jemadar, NCOs, and two Bren gun teams.

Command figures

In addition to the Sikhs, we've "re-capped" the Spanish Foreign Legion in their distinctive Isabellino caps with their "fly-whisk" tassels. These figures were originally designed for the Rif War in the 1920s, but could as well be used in the Spanish Civil War.
