We're very pleased to announce the release of the new modular castles in our Small Scale Scenery range.
For some time now we've wanted to produce some tiny castles, but it took a while to work out exactly what form they would take. There is no such thing as a 'generic' castle, they're all different and generally built to suit the terrain around them. Instead we've settled on making a series of castle components – sets of walls, towers and gateways, along with a couple of keeps. These are all pressure-cast in resin, and should be easy to cut and modify to make your own designs, either based on historical prototypes or ones of your own devising.
The Starter Set consists of a keep, gatehouse, eight towers, eight lengths of curtain wall, and three lengths of walls with bastions. The set will be available in different options so you can choose different keeps and tower types. You can also buy extra packs of components to extend your castle or create your own. There are eleven different component packs initially, and we plan to add more.
