I've run SAS attack on airfield games at a number of UK shows in the last 18 months using 28mm figures and 1:48 scale aircraft. We had 3 SM 79 bombers, a CR 42 and a Bf 109 plus stores. Wingspan of the SM 79 was about 13 inches. All worked well together and no-one thought that the aircraft looked too big. I would suggest that 1:72 scale aircraft on the ground with 28 mm figures would loook much more out of scale.
