Correction – not a "gravel" road apparently.

From Wikipedia:

"…"Road metal" later became the name of stone chippings mixed with tar to form the road surfacing material tarmac. A road of such material is called a "metalled road" in Britain, a "paved road" in Canada and the US, or a "sealed road" in Australia and New Zealand…"

So the colour of the road sections shown is proper. grin

Our flexible latex roads and rivers have been very popular with our customers, and we are continuing to expand these ranges.

The latest variant is a set of narrow metalled road sections for the 20th Century and present-day.

Straight metalled Road sections

The narrow metalled road pieces comprise a ¾" (2cm) wide strip of road, plus verges, for a nominal overall width of 1.25" (3cm). The road surface is lightly textured to represent a metalled surface, and the sections are cast in a mid-grey color to simplify painting.
