In terms of scale we chose both! For our inter-war, WW1 and VBCW range we decided to do 1/48th as the figure ranges tend to be 'larger' 28mm. For the Cold War range we went with 1/56th as the existing ranges at the time, particularly the much-lamented Mongrel Miniatures were slightly smaller and seemed to fit better with what was then the new concept of 1/56th scaling.

FWIW bases also tend to lift figures a bit and make them look taller / bigger than they are, and for my personal stuff I tend to base my vehicles to make them match and 'look right' But a lot is down to personal taste…

The latest 28mm modern AFV kit to be released by Sloppy Jalopy is the Soviet T-62 MBT.

T-62 MBT

The kit is cleanly cast in resin and white-metal, goes together easily and is robust on the tabletop.

Optional auxiliary fuel tanks are included.

I have put together a quick guide to assembly and painting, which is very straight forward, and includes photographs of all of the pieces before assembly.

The kit is available from Sally 4th and Sloppy Jalopy websites, and Sally 4th will also have them available at the shows we attend. The next show we will be at is Phalanx, St. Helens, on 18th June.
