Thanks to everyone who came to see us at a very busy Hammerhead last weekend. Tony did manage to return with some sort of northern lurgi which his soft southern system isn't too happy about, but he'll live.

We've had a slight shuffle round with our new release for this week – what you're getting today was supposed to be next week's release, but the one originally planned for today isn't ready so we've had to switch them. However, this should please any Japanese Imperial Skies admirals, as you're getting a pair of new battlecruisers a week early.

The Haruna class are the fastest capital ships in the Imperial Japanese fleet, often being deployed in fast scouting groups accompanied by light cruisers and escorts. The British-designed main armament is deployed in four heavy turrets, along with a significant secondary battery in both turrets and casemates.
During campaigns in the Western Pacific against a Russian fleet operating within range of land-based fixed-wing aircraft, some Imperial fleets were found lacking in fighter support. The Haruna was identified as being suitable for conversion to a light carrier, so several vessels were earmarked for modification. Their rear main turrets were removed and replaced by a hangar and short flight deck. The secondary turrets were replaced by rapid-firing small caliber cannon for defense against enemy aircraft, with the aft pair relocated from the superstructure to the quarter deck. The converted ships can only operate smaller fighter types, but this is sufficient for their intended role.
