The late Richard Houston some 40 years ago created the widest range of cast-metal 25mm Naval Guns and Ship Fittings for the hobby, but even the finest molds wear out and quality casting becomes problematic.
But just as it looked as if some of the best-selling items in the range would have to be discontinued, TVAG's Casting/Printing Master got out the electronic calipers and went to work converting them to STL files for 3Dprinting in high quality resin – and the results are outstanding!
Not only have the endangered weapons in the line been saved, they've never looked better – now with open muzzles and other features not practical in metal. Better still, complete re-design has improved detail beyond previous limits.
Far less assembly and gluing is required for all pieces, and the resin needs no priming before painting. Much lighter than metal, but still sturdy, these pieces will make new gunboat building easier than ever.
Best of all, entirely new items are being added as the entire range converts from casting to 3Dprinting. The first of these is the heretofore unavailable 53mm Hotchkiss Revolving Cannon – just the ticket in your Colonial Gunboat games to render enemy war canoes to toothpick material!
Newly converted items will be added almost weekly until all weapons are in the new form. And watch for some breathtaking new Ship Fittings coming very soon that will allow for ever more game scenarios.
And – icing on the cake! – prices will not change, remaining the least expensive such gaming accessories on the market.
