Who is Maddox the Monster Hunter?
Torn from his own time by an experimental Rift Device, Maddox appeared in Columbus, Ohio, and laid low while he got acclimated to his new surroundings. With his life in 2087 behind him, Maddox sought to create a new start for himself in 2003. He blazed ahead, first as a private investigator, to track down his best friend, Stratos, who had also been displaced by the same accident. Reunited, Maddox and Stratos were soon recruited by Special Mission Force and tasked with confronting the new worldwide Kaiju threat head on.
Years of service passed, and both Stratos and Maddox were promoted to officers within Special Mission Force. Maddox, always more of a lone gun, met and recruited Scarlet Huntress, and the two formed a bond over werewolf hunting and a love of motorcycles.
On January 20, 2017, the newly inaugurated President of the United States announced he would be withdrawing support for Special Mission Force. Potus, also announced that any current or former Special Mission Force operatives still operating on U.S. soil would be considered domestic terrorists and dealt with accordingly. Special Mission Force immediately abandoned North America and opened a new base in the European Union.
Some operatives, though, did not give up what they considered "the good fight"… the fight against the Kaiju and all monsters that go bump in the night. Maddox is one such soldier, driven by duty and moral obligation, to continue helping those in need and ridding the planet of monsters… even if his actions have begun to blur the line between right and wrong.
