Players control a crew of Nekronauts, unfortunate spacefarers who are stuck in a black hole, fighting for their survival.
The game uses a D10 system to resolve combat, eldritch witchcraft, and the technological know-how of your crew.
Environmental danger and monsters also threaten you, not just your opponent. Scouting and interactive terrain are also part of the system. Doors, computers, cloning vats, lootable crates, and many more can make the difference between survival, victory or total annihilation.
A game of Negative Space is structured and paced as the classic Alien movies. Tension, scouting and careful positioning describes the first rounds. Then all hell lets loose, and the bodies pile high as firefights between crews erupt, and are suddenly interrupted by hostile lifeforms. There is a panic system to further emphasize the crew's descent into despair, as death crawls ever closer.
