Impetus: Ancients, Medievals & Renaissance – 2nd Edition cover

Impetus: Ancients, Medievals & Renaissance – 2nd Edition Second Edition Impetus simulates battles with miniature figures in the Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance periods – recreating over 3,000 years of history from Ancient Sumeria to the Great Italian Wars. Impetus can be played with 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm (1:72) and 25:28mm scale miniatures, and you won't even need to re-base your armies. The manual doesn't include army lists but it works with the lists published in the Extra Impetus supplements until the release of new supplements. $45.00 USD

1859, 1866, 1870 and 1871: Rules Bundle cover

1859, 1866, 1870 and 1871: Rules Bundle The mid-19th Century European wars of transition provided a critical link from the musket-and-saber era of Napoleon to that of bolt-action rifles, breechloading rifled artillery, and machineguns. These four rules booklets explore those critical wars, and the military systems of Imperial France, the Italian Risorgimento, and the German Wars of Unification – their tactics, army organization, weapons, history, and doctrines. The rules were designed specifically for large-scale battles, ideally with 6mm, 10mm, or 15mm figures. All four rulesets, retail $124 USD, now save 25% – new price for all four together: $93.00 USD.

The Zone: The Cold War Turns Hot – Supplement Supplement is adapted from the Living on the Front Line: A Winter of '79 Game rules – Skirmish rules that represent an alternative history of the late 1970s and early 1980s. On the morning of 11 November, a tired, stressed Soviet Armored Division commander makes a fateful decision, prompting a full-scale Soviet and Warsaw Pact invasion of West Germany. $29.00 USD

Against the Odds # 48 Apocalypse in the East A.D. 646-656 cover

Against the Odds #48 Apocalypse in the East A.D. 646-656 From the highlands of Armenia to the shores of Crete, the elite Syrian army and navy seeks to overwhelm the last Byzantine stronghold at Constantinople. Wargame features yearly turns, regimental-sized units, special rules on the Empress Fausta, and random events including the Monothelete Controversy, earthquakes, nepotism by Caliph Uthman, purges in the Byzantine high command, and the introduction of Greek Fire. Also includes a second, smaller game: Black Friday – In the winter of 1942, German General Hermann Balck's 11th Panzer Division fought an amazing series of battles along the Chir River in response to the Soviet surprise attacks that surrounded Stalingrad. On Christmas Day (a Friday that year), this single panzer division pretty much destroyed an entire Soviet tank army. And more. 8.5 x 11-inch map. $40.00 USD

TMP Special Offer: Save 15%. New price: $34.00 USD

Strategy & Tactics #315: Red Tide South Two-player stand-alone game that can is also designed to be played with Red Tide West (Modern War #15). A war in Europe during the 1980s was primarily going to be decided, one way or the other, in West Germany. However, the Balkan Front could have had the most direct influence on the campaign in West Germany. If there was no significant nuclear exchange in Central Europe, a Soviet capture of the heavily industrialized Po Valley would potentially compel the Italians to sue for peace, as well as serve as a gateway to Southern France. Each hex is equivalent to about ten miles (16 kilometers) from side to opposite side, and each turn represents about a day. Components: One 22 x 34-inch map and 228 counters (plus 46 bonus counters for Red Tide West). Includes magazine. $40.00 USD

TMP Special Offer: Save 10%. New price: $36.00 USD

The British Army in Egypt 1801: An Underrated Army Comes of Age cover

The British Army in Egypt 1801: An Underrated Army Comes of Age When it was decided in 1800 that the French Army of the Orient, abandoned by Bonaparte, could be ejected from Egypt, the troops sent to achieve this objective were of a very different quality from those that had been dispatched to Flanders in 1793. This study analyses that force and its commanders, examines the preparations that contributed so notably to its success, and evaluates why it was able to take the fight to a battle-hardened Revolutionary force and defeat it. Includes 38 color illustrations, 13 black-and-white illustrations, and seven black-and-white maps. $40.00 USD

TMP Special Offer: Save 15%. New price: $34.00 USD

King Arthur's Wars After months of field work and map study, discusses how the Anglo-Saxons conquered England; county by county and decade by decade. Exposes what the landscape and the place names tell us. As a result, we can now know far more about this Dark Age. What is so special about Essex? Why is Buckinghamshire an odd shape? Why is the legend of King Arthur so special to us? Why don't Cumbrian farmers use English numbers when they count sheep? Why don't we know where Camelot was? Why did the Romano-British stop eating oysters? What does this have to do with Napoleon's Ulm campaign of 1805, or the Prusso-Danish War of 1864? This book tells that story. Includes 96 figures, maps, and 16 pages of color illustrations. $35.00 USD

TMP Special Offer: Save 15%. New price: $29.75 USD

Mons: An Artillery Battle History of the Battle of Mons in August 1914 with 16 color maps, 21 black-and-white photos/illustrations, and one table, diverges widely from the story enshrined as fact in the Official History, and by subsequent accounts dependent on it. It is based on an examination of the war diaries of almost every British unit involved in the battle, with particular reference to the artillery, thus illuminating the tactical intentions of all arms in every phase of the battle. The artillery had made tactical preparations for the handling of their guns in battle. All units in the British Army conformed to Field Service Regulations. The central role that both these played in the battle is explored. $40.00 USD

TMP Special Offer: Save 15%. New price: $34.00 USD

The Badges of Kitchener's Army While the divisional signs are well known, there has been little authoritative work on the signs worn by the infantry battalions. The book will illustrate the unique cap and shoulder titles used, as well as cloth signs worn to provide easy recognition in the trenches. Each service battalion, of each regiment has a listing, which provides a brief history of the unit and detailed information on the badges worn. Prodigiously illustrated and contains much information, like why a shape or color was chosen, when it was adopted, what size it was, whether it was worn on a helmet, what color the helmet was, and even what colors were used on horse transport. $60.00 USD

TMP Special Offer: Save 15%. New price: $51.00 USD

Panzerkrieg: Volume 1 – German Armored Operations at Stalingrad In this first volume of a series dedicated to studying German armored operations at Stalingrad, the combat histories of Panzer-Abteilungen 103, 129 and 160 will be examined in detail. These panzer battalions were drawn from panzer regiments on the quieter central sector of the Eastern Front. They were incorporated into motorized divisions for the 1942 summer campaign, and though most of their men thought they were headed to the Caucasus, all roads ultimately led to Stalingrad. Enhanced by hundreds of rare photos drawn from official archives, private collections, and the albums of veterans themselves. Includes 559 photos, twelve aerial photos, 50 maps, twelve tables, and three appendices showing the daily panzer strengths of each battalion. $110.00 USD
