27th May 1940. Ordered to hold the hilltop town of Cassel to protect the troops nearing Dunkirk, 145th Brigade faced the full force of 6th Panzer Division. But a tenacious defense by two infantry battalions and their supporting guns, meant this was no walkover for the German armor.
