"Captain, that's an Andromedan Dominator!"
"Steady on! Let the Vudar ship flee. We are the ISC; we will prevail."
There was war, and there was peace.
Rumors of Wars is the sixth book of the Star Fleet Armada series, bringing the combatants of the Star Fleet Universe into the Starmada game. Within these pages, you will find ships, weapons and equipment from three new empires: the Vudar, the Inter-Stellar Concordium (ISC), and the Andromedans.
- The Vudar were one of many Klingon Subject Races. Due to a unique geographic situation (the radiation belt at the edge of the galaxy), the Klingons had allowed the Vudar to operate a few "police" ships for decades. (The Vudar were immune to the radiation.) As the General War dragged on, the Klingons allowed the Vudar to expand their fleet and help fight the Hydrans. Then the General War ended, and the Vudar wanted freedom.
- Weeks after the official ceasefire, the neutral ISC sent hundreds of ships into the neutral zones on a self-appointed mission to keep the peace. The ISC felt that the other empires were composed of dangerous lunatics who needed to be disarmed and kept from causing trouble. ISC ships used plasma torpedoes but counted on the plasmatic pulsar device as the core of their firepower and tactics.
- Reports of Andromedan ships had been heard for years, even before the General War, but these were few and far between. While the ships were dangerous, such encounters were so infrequent as to not be a major threat. After the General War ended, dozens (then hundreds) of Andromedan ships appeared and began a war of conquest, intended to take over the entire galaxy. Their technology was unknown, including tractor-repulsor beams, power absorbers, and the displacement device.
Rumors of Wars contains many starships, including everything from frigates to mighty battleships for the three new empires. It also fills gaps in the existing empires, including escort cruisers. Some empires lacking battle stations and mobile bases will now have them. There are four types of ground installations. A separate file is included for ease of printing.
This book also has details on updates to Starmada that have been made since this series first began, allowing players to easily integrate their existing ships and empires with the new ones.
This book is an expansion. You must have Klingon Armada Unity or Romulan Armada Unity. Play will be enhanced with the Starmada Unity rulebook.
