The Black Age of Rolok

This is a game under construction…

This game is the result of various projects, ideas and combinations of projects I've had over the years. I wanted to create a simple and fun system where anyone, using little space and low investment, could enjoy a massive battle system. I chose the 2mm scale because it's one of the most popular, but players are free to use 6mm figures to replicate more detailed and dynamic battles.

The game is set in my world of Artrusia, the setting for many RPG campaigns and wargame campaigns I've played over the years with my grognard friends. As the game develops, we will gradually introduce more lore for you to immerse yourself in.

This book is a beta version of the game, and much is yet to be added, including lore. Our plan is to add new content monthly, shaping the book until it reaches its final form. You'll notice various items in the table of contents marked as DEV, meaning they will be added to the rules in the future.

As for the miniatures, my idea is to gradually "sculpt" them in 3D and present them to you over time. This will be a significant challenge for me as I've always been a hard-surface modeler, but I need to create the minis and will face the challenge of 3Dmodeling.

One thing that enchants me is the OSR movement in the realm of RPGs. I wanted to initiate something similar to the old wargames of the 80s, an old-school movement in wargames. I believe there's room for us to create simple and enjoyable systems without sacrificing playability, with a good lore and rules that can be shaped by the community.

Hence, the proposal for this game, meaning that it's being developed with everyone's input, and we can build something really cool to play with our loved ones on Saturday afternoons.
