Warlord Games follow up the release of the recent Resurgence Konflikt '47 expansion book with another wave of Japanese reinforcements – with Rift weaponry becoming a common sight on the battlefields of Konflikt '47, the Japanese have sought to push their new compression rifles and Japanese Assault Exo-Skeleton Squad onto the field!
Japanese Infantry With Compression Rifles
Using both disposable and rechargeable power-packs that capitalize on Japan's other significant Rift-tech advance in battery technology; the compression rifle can have a significant impact at longer infantry ranges. Its high firepower is harder to employ at shorter ranges, due to the weight and length of the rifle, but it's broadly comparable to an assault rifle in most instances.
Dependant on theater and formation, some Imperial Japanese Army units have been equipped with compression rifles completely, others issue them to a few members of each rifle squad. Access to regular resupply or recycling of power-packs can be a determining factor in the weapon's employment. The weapon is certainly respected by Allied infantry required to advance into defensive positions manned by compression rifle armed defenders.

Japanese Assault Exo-Skeleton Squad
Granted access to the mass of German Rift-tech development, Japanese scientists were able to make significant advances in new areas of technology. One such field was that of exoskeletons intended to enhance the endurance and speed of the fighting soldier. Based on the earlier battleframes, a modified suit has been deployed specially adapted for close quarters fighting.
The Totsugeki-Gaikokkaku squads are highly mobile and armed with weaponry geared towards close range, mounting either an SMG or occasionally a rapid-firing compression rifle. The suits also incorporate a close combat blade, which the soldiers taking pride in mastering to a fearsome level of proficiency.
