Mediterranean Village, 28mm, Laser-Cut HDF Terrain

A new range of eight buildings and seven accessories with a lot of detail, yet easy to assemble, paint and decorate. All buildings open up!

A week into the Kickstarter campaign, here is an update on what has been achieved so far:

1. The Project Was Funded Within 24 Hours!

Thanks to all supporters for your contributions. You already have made this our second successful Kickstarter campaign!

Production of the kits is already in full swing to start shipping the rewards in May 2019 in chronological order of the received pledges.

2. Stretch-Goals – Free Add-Ons

You have already unlocked two stretch-goals! The "Shrine" and the "Well" kits will be added for free to all countryside, village, town and city pledge levels.

Shrine

Well

The next free add-on will be a set of "Carts, Bench, Table" when $9,000 USD are reached. And a free "surprise" add-on will be unlocked at $12,000 USD!

3. Adding Individual Kits to Pledges

Based on multiple requests, backers can now add individual kits to their sets (note: 1 out of 7, 3 out of 7, and church-only backers can only add accessories and no additional buildings). Simply increase your pledge by the required amount (see table), and tell us what you want during the survey after the Kickstarter has closed.

Please note that shipping for international backers may increase if kits are added to sets. Shipping in the U.S. will not change.

4. Free Stained Glass Windows for All Church Kits

A big 'thank you' to our friends at Iron Hammer Studio! They will provide us with enough stained-glass windows to add them to every church kit sold in the Kickstarter. These sets will be randomly picked.

And if you decide not to include the church in your pledge, but want to add it later on when the kits are available at thingsfromthebasement.com – don't worry, the files for the stained-glass windows can be found in the downloads section! Just print on Overhead Projector Transparency Film and glue in place.

5. International Shipping

To be honest, calculating international shipping costs for the different pledge levels, with different weights and volumes and a huge variety of possible destination countries, was by far the hardest part.

Shipping outside the United States of America is not cheap! HDF kits are not lightweight! For example, the city pledge weighs about 190oz/5.5kg! Box, packing material and stretch-goals not included!

In the end, we came up with four destination zones (U.S.A., Canada, Europe and Rest of the World). After intensive research and comparisons, we decided that all rewards will be shipped via United States Postal Service – Priority Mail. Tracking and basic insurance are included.

The only advice I can give is – the higher your pledge, the better your pledge amount to shipping cost ratio. Maybe you should ask your gaming buddies or local club members to make a joint pledge, and thus save a bit on shipping cost.
