Deal

Victrix are offering a great, new 30% off all boxed sets deal to brighten up your cold, wet and windy February.

All boxed sets and base sets have been reduced by 30% from 7th February to the 9th March. It is as simple as that. All you need to do is stock up on lots of shiny new figures at a fantastic price!

We realize it has been quite some time since Victrix released a major new boxed set. Thankfully, the time we have spent over the past year learning about digital production and design is going to bear fruit. In the next few months, we have an avalanche of new releases scheduled for production and release.

Greeks

Firstly, we have our two new Greek infantry boxed sets - Greek Peltasts and slingers, and Greek unarmored Hoplites and archers - which should be complete and on release end of March/early April time.

These sets will contain 56 figures per box. The detail is superb, and quite possibly the sharpest and best sculpted sets we have produced to date. The high resolution, rapid prototype tests we have had done are quite breath-taking, and the finished models will be a lot sharper still (we have seen what detail can be achieved on some other non-Victrix sets produced by our tooling company). They have been tooled by a company we have worked with for a long time, leading engineers in digital design and manufacture.

Whilst the Greeks are being tooled, we will have our first 15mm aircraft going to tooling, also. We are really excited by this new range of 15mm/1:100th scale aircraft. It is a big departure for us into a new scale and period, but something we have had planned for a long time.

Aircraft

The release schedule for our first four releases is:

  • Stuka
  • Typhoon
  • Thunderbolt
  • Sturmovik

Our first releases obviously concentrate on ground-attack warfare, but all being well, the next tranche of releases will focus on one of history's most iconic air battles, and we will expand to encompass other theaters of aerial warfare in WWII, such as the Japanese, for instance.

The next Ancients release will be Rome's Legions of the Republic (I). This set is only a few weeks away from the patterns stage.

Romans and WWI

The set will be a legion in a box. There will be 60 figures per set, containing Hastati, Principes, Triari, command and Velites or earlier light infantry support. The first set depicts Romans in chainmail armor and a mix of helmet styles. Emel, our sculptor for this range, is doing a superb job, and just gets better all the time. The sharpness of the chainmail, muscle tone in the bodies, and great character in the faces mean this is lining up to be a fantastic set.

Lastly for now, we are working on WWI British and Germans.

We are looking at releasing these sets sometime later this year. These sets will contain ordinary infantry with a choice of early and late war equipment, command figures and light machinegun support. We plan to follow up with heavy weapons and then French. Plus we are planning on tanks and artillery in plastic also, to try and cover this period in as much depth as possible and give it the attention it deserves.

The figures are all works-in-progress at present (digital sculpts are not set in stone!), and still need some refining. We will always welcome constructive feedback, as we know it is a very evocative period for many of our customers and gamers as a whole. Keep watching for updates as we progress.
