Update on Perry Plastic ACW Artillery

Back to Hobby News

Griefbringer writes:

the lid of the limber can be modeled in the open position and a figure built so that he's taking a round out of it.

However, please notice that the interior detailing for the limber ammo storage is likely to be rather limited, so you might need to do a bit of extra modelling for that.

Perry Miniatures of Perry Miniatures writes:

We said we'd show you the crew frame for these when it was done, so here it is, plus a few examples of the guns and crew in action.

Frame

There will be three 3-gun carriages (with option of four different barrels), three limbers, 18 crew, and bases in the box.

Confederate artillery

All the crew have the option of fatigue caps, kepis, or slouch hats, so you can represent both sides. As you can see, there is a wide variety of arm options, too.

Union artillery

We would have like to have included the full limber team in plastic, but this would have been very expensive tooling-wise. We will, however, have separate metal limber teams available when these come out. At this period, teams would sometimes be detached from the limbers and retired to cover, if possible.

Confederate artillery

As you can see with the full crews, you will be able to represent the proper drill positions for the guns.

There will be more pictures on our site.

Boxed set art

The boxed set will be available in February. The very talented Peter Dennis has painted the excellent cover for the box.
